Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
AdvisorCup ("we", "us") operates advisorcup.com, a competitive assessment platform for financial advisors. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you control.
2. Data we collect
Account data: name, email, password (stored as a secure hash), market/jurisdiction, advisor category, and experience level. If you sign in with LinkedIn we receive your LinkedIn identifier, name, and email. Recruiters additionally provide an organization name.
Assessment data: your answers, timings, scores, subscores, and — for oral assessments — a transcript of your simulated client conversation, together with the automated evaluation of that transcript. We do not retain raw audio beyond what is needed to produce the transcript during the live session.
Integrity data: events during ranked attempts such as tab switches, window focus loss, copy attempts, and reconnections, used to assign an integrity status to results.
Usage data: essential cookies for login sessions, referral attribution, and remembering your consent. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.
3. How we use data
To run assessments and produce your scores, rankings, and feedback; to operate leaderboards and public pages you choose to publish; to enable recruiter features you consent to; to protect assessment integrity; and to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
4. AI processing
Oral assessments use AI services (Google Gemini) to simulate the client by voice and to evaluate the transcript. Conversation audio and transcripts are processed by these services to deliver the assessment. We send the minimum data needed and do not include your name or contact details in evaluation requests.
5. Sharing — always your choice
Your results are private by default. They are shared only when you choose:
Leaderboard / public page: publishing shows your chosen name format, category, country, scores, rankings, and integrity status publicly. You can unpublish at any time and the public page is removed.
Recruiter referral: if you register through a recruiter's link, that recruiter (shown to you at registration) can view your assessment reports, including scores, rankings, strengths, and development areas.
Open to opportunities: if you enable this setting, approved recruiters can find your masked profile and view your assessment report. Report views are logged. You can turn this off at any time, which blocks future access.
We do not sell personal data. We use service providers (hosting, AI services) as processors, and may disclose data where required by law.
6. Retention
Account and assessment data are retained while your account is active. Integrity logs and recruiter access logs are retained for audit purposes. If you delete your account, personal data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period except where retention is legally required.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR/UK GDPR, PIPEDA, and US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You also control publication, recruiter discovery, and notification settings directly in the product.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and access logging for recruiter report views. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of significant breaches as required by law.
9. International transfers
The Service operates for participants in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom; data may be processed in these and other countries by our service providers under appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes and contact
We will post updates to this policy here and note material changes in the Service. Questions or requests: contact us via the details published on advisorcup.com.
